About Poon Hill
Poon Hill stands as Nepal's most accessible Himalayan viewpoint, a majestic summit rising 3,210 meters above sea level in the Annapurna Conservation Area. Known to local Gurung people as a sacred landmark, this ancient peak has been revered in the Himalayas for thousands of years.
The hill offers panoramic views of the entire Annapurna range, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and the sacred Machapuchare. The Annapurna Conservation Area, established in 1986, protects this remarkable ecosystem where rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and pristine Himalayan wilderness create the perfect setting for rewarding hiking adventures.
